Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use Sage (sageduel.com), why, and your rights. The data controller is TOTAL-MAT CONSULTING SRL (Romania, VAT/CUI RO34423480), [adresa sediului social — de completat]. Contact: office@totalmat.ro.

1. Data we collect

• Account & authentication — your email address, and if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture as provided by Google. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
• Gameplay — a public display name (handle) you choose for ranked play, your ranked rating (Elo), win/loss records and daily-puzzle results.
• Subscription — whether you have Premium, its renewal/expiry date, and a subscription identifier and management-portal link from our payment provider. We do not receive or store your card details.
• Usage analytics — pseudonymous events about how the Game is used (e.g. page views, features used), collected via PostHog to help us improve the Game.
• Local storage — your browser stores your session and some local stats (e.g. personal bests, guest daily flag) on your device.

2. How we use it

• to provide the Game, your account, and Premium features (performance of a contract);
• to run ranked play and the global leaderboard using your chosen handle (performance of a contract);
• to process and manage your subscription (performance of a contract);
• to send you sign-in (magic link) emails (performance of a contract);
• to understand usage and improve the Game, and to keep it secure (legitimate interests).

3. Service providers (processors)

We share data only with providers that help us run the Service:

• Supabase — authentication and database (EU region).
• Resend — delivery of transactional (sign-in) emails.
• PostHog — product analytics (EU region).
• Lemon Squeezy — payments and subscription management, acting as merchant of record.
• Vercel — hosting and content delivery.

These providers process data on our instructions or, for payments, as the seller of record. Some may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

4. Your public information

If you play ranked, the display name (handle) you choose and your rating are shown on the public global leaderboard. Do not choose a handle that reveals information you don’t want to be public.

5. Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, ranked rating and daily results are deleted. Some records may be retained where required by law (for example, billing records held by our payment provider). Analytics data is retained in pseudonymous form for a limited period.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You can:

• update your handle in the Game;
• delete your account and associated data at any time from your account page;
• contact us at office@totalmat.ro to exercise any right.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (in Romania, the ANSPDCP).

7. Cookies & similar technologies

We use local/browser storage that is necessary to keep you signed in and to store your local game stats. Analytics use pseudonymous identifiers to measure usage. We do not use advertising cookies.

8. Children

The Game is not directed to children under 16, and account creation requires you to be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country).

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date reflects the latest version.
